Video games and the Cure for Aids?

Let us remember the times when our parents would yell at us to quit killing our brain with mindless video games. They would say you get nothing out of it, and you are just wasting you time. What if I told you that a group of gamers from across the world came together for one game and helped the process of curing aids? http://www.theblaze.com/stories/video-gamers-crack-enzyme-riddle-that-could-help-find-an-aids-cure/ Foldit is a game where you you are given an enzyme ( a digital replica) and you are to fold it into different shapes for a higher score. Different teams from around the world, and in those teams are different people from around the world, take other's enzyme and work of that. So people work on other's "project" do to get higher scores. Not even the scientist behind this could even imagine that a cure for one of the most deadly diseases could be found in a game. Here is a link to the game, so get at it and and cure your own disease! http://fold.it/portal/

Who We Shouldn't Fear

Remember remember the fifth of November. We knows these words from the the hit movie "V for Vendetta". But what came from that movie was something beyond a masked man acting out against the government, his face became the symbol for the elite hacker group Anonymous. The group is now notorious for blocking websites and rallying support for the recent Occupy Wall street movements. But more recently that have been given another name, Cyber Terrorists. People around the news will tell you that the next war will not be a traditional war, but a cyber war. In many ways they are right, the internet has taken on a world of it's own and Anonymous is its faithful watchdog. But I would like to address something that is completely false. Anonymous contrary to popular belief has no desire to hurt you. You are the common individual, you are a voice that they rally for. But I can see why we have fear. Anonymous can get easy and quick access of your emails, your passwords, your credit card, residence, where you went to school and even have the ability to find all of this out without your name and just a rough picture of you. They may have gotten this when they hacked SONY this past year. But rest assured they won't hurt you. These acts are to demonstrate to the companies or governments that they are no one to be trifled with. Something you may not have heard is that in October of 2011 the group found and busted a child pornography ring with 40 individual sites that hosted 100GB worth of child pornography. After warning the site Freedom Hosting that they must remove their illegal content and they refused, Anonymous stroke. After busting the ring Anonymous decided they weren't done. They later released 1,589 individual names of people who visited the site. I recommend to you all the documentary "We are Legion". It gives a origin of the group and details on their mission. Which doesn't involve hurting you or me. Unless you run a child pornography ring or wish to censor the internet. Just know that as long as you are a citizen of a free world Anonymous with never hurt you, they will on help.

The Superbowl

This year we were granted the privileged of seeing two number one teams fight for the true number one in football. The Colts and the Saints both starting out as the number one seeds and both reaching 10-0 this season. From those stats alone you would say this would be a great game with the two best teams.

The game was made out to be a high scoring, pass crazy, touchdown fest. This was not the case. The game was more of both teams showing a bit more of a defensive presence. The game started out with the Colts pulling out 10-0 and looking for an easy Superbowl win. Oh no, the Colts forgot they are playing against Drew Brees. The Saints, lead by their down the line Hall of fame Quarterback, came back to beat the colts. Saints become the true number one. So that would make the Colts number two? I don't think so.

According to how events in the playoffs unfolded the Colts have the right to claim to be number 2, because they lost in the Superbowl. But lets look at the saints game two weeks earlier in the championship game. Saints vs. Vikings for the NFC Championship. The Saints went out and won the game but the manner in which they won strikes me as we didn't get the best two teams in this Superbowl. Now the Colts for the AFC makes sense to me but, I feel the better team for the NFC was the Vikings.

Now I am not a Vikings fan. But how the game went down makes me believe this was the team that should have gone to the Superbowl. Now a big thing to the Viking's loss was they had six turnovers. Yes that is horrible, and how could I say they should have gone to the Superbowl. The score was 31 to 28 Saints, a very close win. They almost lost to a team that turned the ball over six times. In that kind of game the opposite team should have won by a landslide. No, the Saints won the game in overtime by a field goal. This is the best team in NFL?

Now I am not trying to destroy the Saints Superbowl win. In fact I was cheering them on during the game and I am glad they won the Superbowl. The Saints where clearly the better team in the game and deserve to have this win. But the fact still remains, they almost lost to a team with six turnovers, and they won it by an overtime field goal.
